The principle function of this role is to provide Virtual and Telehealth clinical social work services to patients and possibly their families. The successful candidate in conjunction with an interdisciplinary team will provide comprehensive psychosocial assessments, individual therapy, group therapy, case management and discharge planning.
Responsibilities:
- Provide virtual short-term tele and video-counselling to individuals dealing with various personal issues to enhance coping skills and improve functioning.
- Work virtually with children, youth and adults to provide individualized and/or crisis supports
Requirements:
- Master of Social Work Degree mandatory.
- Current registration in good standing with OCSWSSW without terms, limits or conditions.
- Valid professional liability insurance
- Advanced training in areas of clinical assessment and experience in therapies modalities (DBT, CBT, ACT) for children adolescents and their families is advantageous
- Minimum 2 years direct experience working with children and families in the community and in a hospital setting through inpatient units, outpatient units and emergency rooms.
- Knowledge of the network of community services and resources in the GTA area.
- Broad experience of mental health services including case management and crisis management for children and adolescents.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to function as a team player.
- Practice in a manner consistent with the philosophy of continuous quality improvement.
- Remain abreast of current literature and changing practice patterns
- Ability to work within a short term solution focused model
- Ability to clinically manage high-risk cases
- Comfort using video-conference platform
